Blue Mountains Grammar School is a co-educational, Christian day school in the Anglican tradition that works in partnership with parents of students from Pre-Kindergarten to the Higher School Certificate to grow exceptional young people of hope, purpose and courage.  The school is seeking to employ an Assistant to the Deputy Head - Head of Senior School within the Senior School Administration Team.The PositionAs the Assistant to the Deputy Head - Head of Senior School, you are responsible for:Performing administrative tasks related to the Head of Senior School;Oversee the effective operation of Senior School Reception, including providing coverage for the Senior School Receptionist;Oversee the effective operation of Senior School Sick Bay, including aiding students as required;Undertake administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the senior school in areas including;Student AdministrationStudent attendanceStudent ReportsExcursions AdministrationCo-curricular AdministrationMaintenance of Senior School archiving and filing;Provide professional customer service to both external and internal stakeholders;Attend staff meetings and any appropriate Professional Development;Assist with the co-ordination and facilitation of the School Sporting Carnivals;Assist with the organisation of events;Receive and distribute information to relevant parties as required;Handle sensitive/private information received with confidentiality;Assist with whole school administration tasks;Carry out other duties as may be required by their Supervisor from time to time.Employment ConditionsPermanent, Monday to Friday, thirty eight (38) hours per week;School Term time plus six (6) weeks;Salary in accordance with the MEA.Desirable Skills and ExperienceThe successful incumbent will need to confidently demonstrate the following key skills and experience:Demonstrated experience working in a senior administrative function preferably within a school environment;Strong PC literacy, particularly with MS Office, and ideally school-based applications;Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;Ability to work collaboratively with fellow team members;Demonstrated ability to communicate with staff and parents of the school openly and effectively;Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and multitask effectively.Privacy Guidelines Employment Collection NoticeIn applying for this position, the applicant will be providing Blue Mountains Grammar School with personal information.The School will collect the information in order to assess the application for employment and may keep this information on file if your application is unsuccessful in case another position becomes available.The School's Privacy Policy contains details of how the applicant may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or how the applicant may seek access to personal information collected about them.
