Blue Mountains Grammar School is a co-educational, Christian day school in the Anglican tradition that works in partnership with parents of students from Pre-Kindergarten to the Higher School Certificate to grow exceptional young people of hope, purpose and courage. The school is seeking to employ a flexible Maintenance Casual with preferred Electrical/Carpenter Trade experience.The PositionEnsure campus grounds are always well maintained including common areas such as pathways, car park entrances and exits and identify and attend to any urgent works; Ensure all playground areas are always kept safe and clean;Grass cutting, weeding, maintaining sporting fields and garden;Assist with setting up and dismantling for school functions including but not limited to Assemblies, Awards Nights, Sport Days etc;Carry out scheduled maintenance;Ensure schools waste management is well maintained;Essential to adhere to Work Health and Safety guidelines and identify and rectify or notify the Head of Campus or Operations Manager of any WHS issues;Other duties as determined by the Headmaster, Head of School, Business Manager or Operations Manager.Employment ConditionsCasual - flexibility with hours;Salary in accordance with the MEA.Skills, Experience & Qualifications:General grounds, plants and building maintenance, utilising skills such as basic carpentry and plumbing and other general maintenance works.Previous experience in general handyman roles, or property maintenance Trade qualification in building, electrical, carpentry, mechanical or similar is an advantage;Sound computer skills to respond to emails;Sound communication skills;Experience in maintenance of buildings and grounds;Good work ethic with a "can do" attitude;Reliable; MR license not essential, but advantageous;NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment.Privacy Guidelines Employment Collection NoticeIn applying for this position, the applicant will be providing Blue Mountains Grammar School with personal information.The School will collect the information in order to assess the application for employment and may keep this information on file if your application is unsuccessful in case another position becomes available.The School's Privacy Policy contains details of how the applicant may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or how the applicant may seek access to personal information collected about them.
