Blue Mountains Grammar School is a co-educational, Christian day school in the Anglican tradition that works in partnership with parents of students from Pre-Kindergarten to the Higher School Certificate to grow exceptional young people of hope, purpose and courage. The school is seeking to employ an outstanding PDHPE Educator to inspire students in both our Primary and Secondary Schools.The PositionThe Senior School Teacher is responsible for the implementation of the Blue Mountains Grammar School Statement of Teaching and Learning through:Providing direction, supervision and care for students in the Senior School;Excelling in the classroom through the effective delivery of the curriculum;Maintaining professional standards;Effective classroom management;Building rapport with students;Emphasising the Christian ethos of the School.Employment ConditionsStart 27th August 2021;Full-Time;Parental Leave Cover;Salary in accordance with the MEA;Have a valid Working with Children Check number;Teaching & LearningTeach classes as allocated;Plan, lessons for stimulating and effective teaching to occur using the relevant Teaching & Learning Programs;Differentiate the curriculum to cater for the range of abilities, interests and backgrounds of students;Implement assessment tasks to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and ways of working;Give the appropriate notice on all formal assessment tasks as per the assessment schedule;Maintain records of student achievement;Provide timely and appropriate feedback to the individual student;Report constructively through open communication with parents; by way of interview, telephone conversation, email, student report cards and the maintenance of anecdotal records;Communicate unsatisfactory academic performance of students to the Deputy Head - Teaching & Learning;Utilise the school's on-line learning management tools.Professional StandardsMaintain a current knowledge of pedagogy and subject disciplines;Work collaboratively as a member of the teaching team to ensure the best possible outcomes for the students;Attend after hours Department and Staff meetings as required.Privacy Guidelines Employment Collection NoticeIn applying for this position, the applicant will be providing Blue Mountains Grammar School with personal information.The School will collect the information in order to assess the application for employment and may keep this information on file if your application is unsuccessful in case another position becomes available.The School's Privacy Policy contains details of how the applicant may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or how the applicant may seek access to personal information collected about them.
