Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) Teacher (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Blue Mountains Grammar School (BMGS) is a co-educational Christian School in the Anglican tradition for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. We are seeking an innovative and engaging Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) Teacher to join our Senior School teaching team at BMGS. In this role, you will deliver both theoretical and practical lessons that engage students in innovative design thinking and hands-on project work. The ideal candidate will have a background teaching Design & Technology and Industrial Technology - Timber. This position is available on a Permanent Full-Time OR Part-Time basis, commencing Term 1, 2025.

• Salary in accordance with the MEA

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons that integrate both theoretical and practical learning;
• Develop and implement well-structured lesson plans, ensuring alignment with the curriculum and student learning outcomes;
• Create and assess a range of practical and theoretical tasks to measure student progress and skills development;
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive workshop environment;
• Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse student needs and learning abilities;
• Guide students in the use of tools, machinery, and design software, promoting safe practices and technical skill development;
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on assessments and communicate student progress to parents and guardians;
• Foster positive relationships with students, supporting their wellbeing and personal growth both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements

• The ability to teach Design & Technology and Industrial Technology - Timber is preferred;
• NESA accreditation to teach in NSW;
• A current NSW Working With Children Check;
• Full Australian work rights.
